Lion Park

Apologies for the wrong order of this and Ryan's bungy blog - we thought we'd already posted this one!
After arriving back in Johannesburg from safari we had one day before flying south to Port Elizabeth, so we decided to head to the Lion Park, which is a conservation park north of the city. The park houses a number of animals, including lions, African dogs, cheetahs and other bush animals like giraffes and zebras. The park also has a ‘crèche’ for lion cubs, which you can visit to play with and hug the baby lions. Considering the lions were only between 3 and 6 months old they had very large teeth and claws! Luckily though they were quite friendly, and didn’t mind posing for pictures!
Also at the park, we were able to feed giraffes from a raised platform next door to the ‘reserve’. The giraffes had 14.5 inch long tongues, which are as rough as sand paper. When you feed them they reach out with their tongue and wrap it around your hand to try and get the food, covering you in giraffe dribble!
